Learning this, I was able to speed up and save more time in designing my own cable knit items. Here are two designs I made using my new and improved skills.

The first design is a solid striped cable knit pillow cover for my couch. I used my new skills to add a “pop of color” to the stripe. To do this, I added a purple pattern to one of the sides of the striped pattern.
This is an easy and quick cable knit pattern for a striped pillow cover.

A flat pillow cover is nice and versatile, but a pattern can be added to add a little flair to a plain pillow cover.
I knit my super chunky 14 x 16 pillow cover in a solid color and then added a simple round pattern in a white, light gray and purple color.
This is a very easy cable knit pattern to knit in two colors.

This is a great and versatile pattern for a solid and striped cable knit pillow cover. I added a stripe to the “oversized” cable knit.

The second design is a striped cable knit pattern for a round pillow cover. I worked this pattern in one color and then added a couple rounds in a brighter color.
